Pro Sports Training

          2012 SPRING /SUMMER PROGAM
           April 30th - August 31st
1. Athletic Sports Strength Training
Strength is developed with the intent of improving sport skills.
As athletes your primary motive is to increase performance and to enhance movement. The brain thinks in terms of movement not individual isolated muscles.

2. Sports Balance (Proprioception) Training
The ability to display strength in conditions of instability is actually the highest expression of strength. The emphasis is on not only improving strength but incorporating balance and stability with strength, in the simplest form, strength that you can use for your game.

3. Core / Torso Training – Stabilization / Rotational Strength
Most Sports are played in an upright position so therefore, majority of your core training should be done standing up. Developing strength and power in all planes and at varying speed will enhance athletic performance and reduce injuries.

4. Training for Speed, Agility and Quickness (Acceleration)
The ability to decelerate, redirect and accelerate as well as to achieve high velocities (speed) is crucial to an athletes sports performance especially in a team game. In team sports the prized quality that everyone talks about is speed, but what really separates athletes is the acceleration that the player has.

5. Sports Conditioning
The goal of the conditioning program is to improve sports performance not just to improve recovery time. Asking athletes in sprint dominated sports to develop a base through long steady runs can lead to muscular degradation in length, range of motion, and overuse. The ability to tolerate the muscular forces generated by accelerating and decelerating and the ability to adapt to the additional metabolic stress caused by acceleration and deceleration are the real keys to conditioning.

Hi Dean,
My son Evan Mancini-Welsford really enjoyed your program. I saw the benefits of the program come out on the ice big time. He'll be back next year for sure.
